The Clock Tower Sanctuary is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you how we gather, define and utilise your information.

Collecting Information
The Clock Tower Sanctuary (CTS) promises to protect any personal data you share with us as a donor, fundraiser or volunteer. This includes any data you share with us directly or from other organisations we work with. We aim to be clear when we collect your data and not do anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect.
Developing a better understanding of our supporters through their personal data allows us to make better decisions, fundraise more efficiently and ultimately helps us to achieve our aim of supporting young people experiencing homelessness.
- We use an ‘opt-in only’ communication policy for electronic communications. We will only send you marketing information electronically (e.g. by email or text/SMS) if you have specifically agreed to us doing so. We rely on consent for this processing, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in any of our messages to you.
- We may send marketing information by post or call you for marketing purposes, unless you have previously opted out or said that you don’t want to be contacted. We rely on legitimate interests for these activities, as we consider that we have a legitimate interest to promote the Clock Tower Sanctuary to potential and actual supporters.
You can change your marketing preferences at any time by emailing [email protected] or calling us on 01273 056828.
If you ask us to stop sending marketing information we will update our records to stop further mailings as quickly as we can. However, you may still receive further mailings which were already in progress before you asked us to stop.
Our fundraising and marketing communications include information about how we are helping to support young people experiencing homelessness. If you would like to receive such communications but have not opted in please contact us via email at [email protected].
Visitors to our Website
When someone visits www.thects.org.uk we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is processed in a way which does not identify anyone personally. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. You can find more information on how cookies are used on this website in the Cookie Policy ».

Newsletter Sign Up
As part of the registration process for our newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to give you information about things you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to send our email newsletter. They act as a data processor for us. We share your first name, surname and email address with MailChimp. MailChimp gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice ».
You can unsubscribe to our email newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer [email protected].
Direct Marketing
We use legitimate interest to contact you to let you know about the progress we are making and to ask for donations or other support. Occasionally, we may include information from partner organisations or organisations who support us in these communications. We make it easy for you to tell us how you want us to communicate, in a way that suits you. Our forms have clear marketing preference questions and we include information on how to opt out when we send you mailings. If you don’t want to hear from us, that’s fine. Just let us know when you provide your data or contact our office manager on 01273 056828 or via email at [email protected].
We do not sell or share personal details to third parties for the purposes of marketing. But, if we run an event in partnership with another named organisation your details may need to be shared. We will be very clear what will happen to your data when you register.
